Booking Terms & Conditions

These terms apply to all course bookings made with Sailing Pro Italy through this website, by email, or by phone. By paying the course fee, you confirm that you have read and accepted them.

Who you are buying from

Sailing Pro Italy, a Sports Promotion Organization (Ente di Promozione Sportiva) recognized by the Italian National Olympic Committee (CONI) and an RYA Training Centre. Contact: info@sailingpro.org. Fiscal code displayed in the site footer.

What you are buying

The course fee paid to Sailing Pro covers training (online and/or in person), course materials specified on the course page, and our part of the RYA certification process. Where a separate RYA exam fee is required (e.g. Short Range Certificate, First Aid), this is paid by you directly to the RYA and is not included in the fee paid to us. Where the RYA issues the final certificate by post, delivery and timing depend on the RYA, not on us.

Price, taxes, and payment

Course fees are shown on each course page in Euro (EUR). Any applicable Italian VAT is included in the displayed price. Payment is processed by Stripe Payments Europe Ltd.; we never receive or store full card details. A payment receipt is sent automatically by Stripe to the email address you provide at checkout. If you need an Italian fiscal invoice or receipt for tax purposes, write to info@sailingpro.org within 30 days of payment.

When the contract is formed

The booking contract is concluded the moment Stripe confirms your payment. You will receive a confirmation email from Stripe and, for theory and online courses, login credentials and any further instructions from us within 24 hours.

Right of withdrawal (14 days)

Under EU and Italian consumer law (Codice del Consumo, artt. 52–59), you have 14 days from the day the contract is concluded to withdraw without giving a reason, by writing to info@sailingpro.org. We will refund the amount paid within 14 days of receiving your withdrawal request. Two important exceptions apply:

• Online/digital courses (e.g. PPR, SRC theory): if we give you access to the RYA online learning platform within the 14-day window, and you have explicitly consented to receive that access immediately, you lose the right of withdrawal as soon as access is granted (Codice del Consumo art. 59, comma 1, lett. o). Your explicit consent is collected during the Stripe checkout.
• Practical courses on specific dates (e.g. Procida): if the course starts before the 14 days expire, the right of withdrawal does not apply once the course has begun. Cancellations made before the start date are governed by the cancellation policy below.

Cancellation by you

Outside the 14-day withdrawal window (or for practical courses where the right of withdrawal does not apply), cancellations are refunded as follows, calculated from the course start date:

• 30 days or more before the course: full refund minus a €30 administrative fee.
• 15–29 days before the course: 50% refund.
• 7–14 days before the course: 25% refund.
• Less than 7 days before the course, or no-show on the start date: no refund.

Cancellation requests must be sent in writing to info@sailingpro.org. Stripe processing fees on refunded amounts are not recoverable and may be deducted.

Cancellation or rescheduling by us

We may cancel or reschedule a course due to insufficient enrolments, adverse weather (especially for practical courses), instructor unavailability, or other circumstances beyond our control (force majeure). In that case, you may choose between a full refund or rescheduling to the next available date at no extra cost. We are not liable for travel, accommodation, or any other costs you have incurred independently.

Practical courses: safety and conduct at sea

Practical courses are run on sailing yachts under the command of a qualified skipper/instructor. By participating, you agree to follow the skipper's instructions at all times for safety reasons. You declare that you are in good general health, can swim, and have informed us of any medical condition that could affect participation. Personal belongings on board are carried at your own risk. Valid identity documents are required for all participants.

Liability

Sailing Pro Italy carries the insurance required by Italian law for sports training activities. Our liability is limited to direct damages caused by our proven negligence and, in any case, to the amount paid for the course. We are not liable for indirect damages or for events caused by your failure to follow safety instructions or by force majeure.

Complaints and dispute resolution

If something goes wrong, write to info@sailingpro.org — we read every message and try to resolve issues directly within a reasonable time. If we cannot reach an agreement, EU consumers may use the European online dispute resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.

Applicable law

These terms are governed by Italian law. Mandatory consumer protection provisions of the country where the consumer resides remain unaffected. For non-consumer disputes, the court of Rome has exclusive jurisdiction.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version that applies to your booking is the one published on this page at the moment you complete payment.
